The NSR0520V2T1G from ON Semiconductor is a Schottky barrier diode designed for very low forward voltage drop and low leakage current, ideal for portable device applications. Key electrical specifications include a maximum reverse voltage of 20V, continuous forward current of 500mA, and non-repetitive peak surge current of 2A. The typical forward voltage is 325mV at 100mA and 480mV at 500mA, with a reverse leakage current of 8µA at 10V. Switching speed is very high with a reverse recovery time of 12ns at 10mA, and junction capacitance is low at 35pF at 1V. The device is housed in a surface mount SOD-523 package, supporting small footprint designs. Power dissipation is 170mW with minimum trace, increasing to 340mW with improved mounting on a 4 in² FR-4 board. Thermal resistance ranges from 600°C/W (min trace) to 300°C/W (improved mounting). The operating temperature range is -55°C to 125°C. ESD ratings are Class 3B for Human Body Model and Class C for Machine Model. The device is Pb-Free, Halogen Free/BFR Free, and RoHS compliant. Typical applications include LCD and keypad backlighting, camera photo flash, buck and boost DC-DC converters, reverse voltage and current protection, and clamping circuits. Automotive qualified versions (NSVR prefix) are also available.
