The NRVBS540T3G is a surface mount Schottky power rectifier designed by On Semiconductor (onsemi). It utilizes the Schottky barrier principle with a large area metal-to-silicon power diode structure, featuring epitaxial construction, oxide passivation, and metal overlay contact. This device is ideally suited for low voltage, high frequency rectification, free wheeling, and polarity protection in compact surface mount applications.
Key electrical specifications include a maximum peak repetitive reverse voltage of 40 V, an average rectified current of 5 A, and a low forward voltage of 500 mV at 5 A. The diode offers fast recovery (<500 ns) and is capable of withstanding reverse avalanche energy transients. It is rated for non-repetitive peak surge current up to 190 A. ESD protection is provided with machine model rating >400 V and human body model rating >8000 V.
The device is packaged in a small, compact DO-214AB (SMC) package with J-bend leads, suitable for automated handling. It operates over a junction temperature range of -65°C to 150°C. The NRVBS540T3G is the automotive-grade variant (AEC-Q101 qualified) and is Pb-Free, Halogen Free/BFR Free, and RoHS compliant.
