The NRVB440MFST3G is a Schottky barrier rectifier from On Semiconductor, rated for 40V reverse voltage and 4A average rectified current. It features a low forward voltage drop of 650 mV typical at 4 A, enabling high-efficiency power conversion. The device exhibits fast recovery speed (<500 ns) and is capable of handling 40 A non-repetitive peak surge current and 10 mJ unclamped inductive switching energy. ESD ratings are HBM 3B and MM M4.
The device is housed in a surface-mount SO-8 FL (5-DFN 5x6) package with 100% matte tin lead finish. It is MSL level 1 and supplied in tape and reel with 5000 pieces per reel. The NRVB prefix indicates automotive qualification (AEC-Q101) and PPAP capability. The operating junction temperature range is -55°C to 175°C.
Applications include output rectification in high-frequency (up to 2 MHz) power supplies, freewheeling diode for inductive loads, and rectification in compact portable consumer electronics. Note: This device is discontinued and not recommended for new designs.
