The Nordic Semiconductor NRF2402G-REEL is a true single-chip GFSK transmitter operating in the 2.4-2.5 GHz ISM band. It is designed for wireless data communication applications, offering features such as adjustable output power up to 0dBm and a maximum data rate of 1Mbps.
This transmitter integrates a frequency synthesizer, power amplifier, crystal oscillator, and modulator. The output power and frequency channel are programmable via a 3-wire interface. It operates within a power supply range of 1.9V to 3.6V and has a typical supply current of 10mA at -5dBm output power. The device also supports ShockBurst™ mode for ultra-low power operation and has a power-down mode with a supply current of 200nA.
Packaged in a 16-pin QFN (4x4) with an exposed pad, the NRF2402G-REEL is designed for surface mount applications. Its operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C. Key applications include wireless mouse, keyboard, joystick, keyless entry systems, alarm and security systems, and home automation.
The transmitter supports multi-channel operation with 128 channels and frequency hopping capabilities, with channel switching times under 200μs. It also includes CRC computation for data integrity.
