The NLPS591MNTWG from ON Semiconductor is a versatile, fully-configurable port companion IC designed for display applications. It supports four externally selectable modes: 4-Channel autosensing logic level translator, CRT, HDMI, and DisplayPort (DP). This device provides switchable power to connected displays and the necessary level shifting for various display modes, along with high-level ESD protection on the connector side.
Key electrical specifications include a wide VCCA operating range of 1.65 V to 5.5 V and a wide VIN range of 3.0 V to 5.5 V for power modes, and 1.65 V to 5.5 V for level translator mode. It features a low RDSON load switch of 300 mΩ at 3.3 V VIN, soft-start control, and protection against overcurrent, overvoltage, and backdrive.
With low power consumption (< 10 mW with load switch on, < 1 mW with load switch off), the NLPS591MNTWG is suitable for power-sensitive applications. It offers high drive VESA-compliant translator SYNC level translators in CRT mode and integrated pull-ups for autosensing bidirectional translators.
