NCV7748D2R2G

The NCV7748D2R2G from ON Semiconductor is an automotive-grade, eight-channel low-side relay driver designed for LIN bus control. This device offers flexible output control via an optimized LIN command set, compliant with SAE J2602 specifications.

Each output driver features an integrated clamp for inductive loads and overcurrent detection. Specific channels (OUT4 and OUT8) provide additional fault reporting for open load or short-to-ground conditions, as well as individual over-temperature reporting. The device supports a voltage rating of up to 38V and offers different current capabilities per channel: 0.75A for OUT4 and OUT8, and 0.6A for OUT1-3 and OUT5-7. The typical RdsOn is 800mOhm for OUT4/8 and 1.5 Ohm for other channels.

Key features include low quiescent current in sleep mode, global over-temperature detection, power-on reset, and undervoltage detection. The integrated LIN physical layer is compliant with LIN2.x standards, and it includes a state machine for protocol handling and message decoding. A virtual LIN node concept allows driving up to 32 relays using a single LIN node address with multiple slave devices. The device node address (NAD) is selectable via an external resistor.

Packaged in a 14-SOIC (0.154" width) surface-mount package, the NCV7748D2R2G is suitable for applications such as power distribution boxes, junction boxes, and body electrical centers. It is AEC-Q100 qualified and PPAP capable, making it ideal for demanding automotive environments. The device is Pb-free and halogen-free.
