The NCV7357MW3R2G from ON Semiconductor is a high-speed CAN FD transceiver that serves as the physical interface between a CAN protocol controller and the bus. It provides differential transmit and receive capabilities, ensuring robust communication at data rates beyond 1 Mbps, suitable for CAN flexible data rate requirements.

This transceiver operates within a voltage range of 4.75V to 5.25V and functions across an extended temperature range of -40°C to 150°C. Key features include compliance with ISO 11898-2:2016, specified CAN FD timing up to 5 Mbps, and a VIO pin for direct interfacing with 3V to 5V microcontrollers on specific versions. It also offers a low current, listen-only silent mode.

Designed for reliability, the NCV7357MW3R2G boasts very low electromagnetic emission (EME) and high electromagnetic immunity, even without a common-mode choke. It ensures no disturbance to bus lines with an unpowered node and includes a transmit data (TxD) dominant timeout function.
