The NCT72CMTR2G from ON Semiconductor is a dual-channel digital thermometer and alarm IC designed for thermal management systems. It features on-chip and remote temperature sensing with an accuracy of ±2.5°C over a -40°C to 125°C operating range. The device supports a wider sensing temperature range from -64°C to +191°C and includes series resistance cancellation up to 1.5 kΩ.
Communication is handled through a 2-wire SMBus/I²C serial interface. The NCT72CMTR2G provides programmable over/undertemperature limits and configurable ALERT output, which can also function as a second THERM output for fan control. It is pin and register compatible with the NCT1008.
This temperature sensor is available in a compact 8-WDFN (2x2 mm) surface-mount package. It operates with a supply voltage range of 2.8V to 3.6V and is compatible with 1.8V logic. The device also features offset registers for system calibration and low operating and standby currents.
