The NCT214MT3R2G from ON Semiconductor is a dual-channel digital temperature monitor designed for thermal management systems. It offers on-chip and remote temperature sensing capabilities with a configurable ALERT output and two fail-safe THERM outputs.
A key feature is its series resistance cancellation, which can cancel up to 1.5 kΩ of resistance in series with the temperature monitoring diode, aiding in noise filtering. The device supports a switchable temperature measurement range, defaulting to 0°C to +127°C and expandable to –64°C to +191°C.
Communication is handled via a 2-wire SMBus/I2C serial interface, allowing up to nine NCT214 devices on the same bus. The NCT214MT3R2G is register-compatible with ADM1032 and ADT7461, facilitating integration into existing designs. It is suitable for applications in desktop and notebook computers, industrial controllers, smart batteries, and embedded systems.
This temperature monitor is available in a 10-WDFN Exposed Pad package and is designed for surface mount installation. It operates with a supply voltage between 3V and 3.6V and has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
