The NCP4425P from ON Semiconductor is a dual high-speed MOSFET driver designed for reliable service in demanding electrical environments. Primarily intended for driving power MOSFETs, it is also suitable for other loads requiring a low impedance driver with high peak currents and fast switching capabilities, such as clock lines, coaxial cables, or piezoelectric transducers.
Key electrical specifications include a high peak output current of 3 A and a wide operating voltage range from 4.5 V to 18 V. It offers excellent capacitive load drive capability, handling 1800 pF in 25 nsec, with short typical delay times of 40 nsec. The driver features matched rise and fall times, low supply current, and a low output impedance of 3.5 Ω typical. It is latch-up protected to withstand 1.5 A reverse current and its logic inputs can withstand negative swings up to 5 V. The device also includes 4 kV ESD protection.
Available in an SOIC package, the NCP4425P is suitable for surface mount applications. It operates within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The device is designed to keep total power dissipation within the maximum limits of the package.
