The NCP4305QDR2G from ON Semiconductor is a versatile secondary-side synchronous rectification driver tailored for high-efficiency switch-mode power supplies (SMPS). It is suitable for various topologies including DCM, CCM flyback, quasi-resonant flyback, forward, and half-bridge resonant LLC converters.

Key features include a precise zero current detection, a fast 12 ns turn-off delay, and a rugged current sense pin capable of handling up to 200V. The device offers adjustable minimum on-time and off-time with ringing detection, along with an ultrafast 7.5 ns trigger interface. Its 8 A / 4 A peak current sink/source drive capability and adaptive gate drive clamp enable the use of GaN FETs.

Designed for high efficiency at both full load and light load conditions, the NCP4305QDR2G utilizes Kelvin connection for the driver to the MOSFET and incorporates automatic light-load detection.
