The ON Semiconductor NCP383LMUAJAATXG is a single-input, dual-output power distribution switch designed for applications with heavy capacitive loads and potential short circuits. It incorporates two low RDS(on) N-channel MOSFETs within a single package.
Each channel of the NCP383LMUAJAATXG can limit output current to a set level by entering a constant-current mode when the load exceeds the threshold or a short circuit occurs. The current limit is externally adjustable via a pull-down resistor. The device offers a wide operating voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V and features adjustable current limiting up to 2.8A with ±7.5% accuracy at 2.8A.
Key features include fast over-current detection response (2 µs typical), low standby supply current (1 µA maximum), under-voltage lockout (UVLO), soft-start, thermal protection, soft turn-off, and reverse voltage protection. The switch is controlled by a logic enable input that is active low, and a /FLAGx logic output asserts low during over-current, reverse-voltage, or over-temperature conditions.
This power distribution switch is housed in a 10-UDFN (3x3 mm) package with an exposed pad for enhanced thermal performance. It is suitable for applications such as laptops, USB ports/hubs, and TVs. The device is Pb-Free and compliant with IEC61000-4-2 (Level 4), UL Listed (File E343275), and CB Certified (IEC60950-ED2 and IEC60950-ED2-AM1).
