NC4FXX

The Neutrik NC4FXX is a 4-pole female cable connector designed as the next generation of the standard XLR connector. It features a rugged zinc diecast shell with nickel plating and silver-plated contacts.

Key electrical specifications include a contact resistance of less than 3 mΩ, a dielectric strength of 1.5 kVdc, and an insulation resistance greater than 10 GΩ. The rated current per contact is 10 A, with a rated voltage of less than 50 V. Mechanically, it supports cable outer diameters from 3.5 to 8.0 mm and wire sizes up to 1.5 mm² or 16 AWG. The connector has an insertion force of ≤ 20 N and a withdrawal force of ≤ 20 N, with a lifetime exceeding 1000 mating cycles.

Designed for improved reliability and ease of assembly, the NC4FXX incorporates a unique cage design for female contacts, a solder barrier, and an improved solid metal latch. It also features additional ground spring contacts for better shell ground continuity and an improved chuck type strain relief for higher pull-out force. The boot is made of polyurethane for high protection against cable bending stresses.

This connector complies with IEC 61076-2-103 and has a protection class of IP 40. It operates within a temperature range of -30 °C to +80 °C and meets UL 94 V-0 flammability standards. The contact plating is 2 µm silver over 2 µm nickel.
