The NB7VQ1006MMNTXG by On Semiconductor is a high-performance differential 1:6 CML fanout buffer with a selectable equalizer receiver. Designed for data paths operating up to 10 Gb/s, this component compensates for degraded data signals transmitted across FR4 PCB backplanes or cable interconnects, outputting six identical CML copies of the input signal. This reduces Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI) caused by losses in copper interconnects or long cables, thereby increasing the serial data rate.
The equalizer function is controlled via the EQEN pin. When EQEN is low, the inputs bypass the equalizer; when high, they pass through. The default state at startup is low. The differential inputs incorporate internal 50 Ω termination resistors, allowing acceptance of various logic level standards such as LVPECL, CML, or LVDS, and providing transmission line termination at the receiver without external components.
This device operates within a VCC range of 1.71 V to 2.625 V and has an ambient operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The outputs can be powered by either a 1.8 V or 2.5 V supply. The NB7VQ1006MMNTXG is a member of the GigaComm™ family of high-performance Clock/Data products. It is supplied in a 24-QFN (4x4 mm) package suitable for surface mounting.
Key electrical characteristics include a maximum input data rate greater than 10 Gbps and a maximum input clock frequency greater than 7.5 GHz. Typical propagation delay is 225 ps, with typical rise and fall times of 30 ps. The differential CML outputs provide a typical peak-to-peak voltage of 400 mV.
