The MaxLinear MxL261 is a highly-integrated, monolithic, dual wideband tuner and quad demodulator receiver IC targeting DOCSIS and EuroDOCSIS cable modem designs. It operates within a frequency range of 44MHz to 1002MHz, featuring two independently tunable 96MHz wideband tuners and four QAM demodulators.
This IC integrates essential components including a broadband input filter, channel filter, AGC, LO generation, and PLL, enabling simple and compact board designs with reduced BOM costs. The MxL261 consumes less than 175mW per channel in full eight-channel mode, contributing to its compliance with energy efficiency standards.
It supports multiple supply voltages (3.3V, 1.8V, and 1.2V) and is controlled via a convenient I2C interface. The MxL261 is housed in a 7mm x 7mm, 48-pin QFN package, making it suitable for space-constrained applications.
This component is based on MaxLinear's low-power digital CMOS process technology, offering a global standards solution for broadband communication applications.
