The MUR840G is an ultrafast rectifier diode from onsemi, designed for use in switching power supplies, inverters, and freewheeling diode applications. It has a maximum repetitive reverse voltage of 400V and an average rectified current of 8A. The forward voltage is 1.3V at 8A, and the reverse recovery time is 60 ns. The device can operate over a junction temperature range of -65°C to 175°C and has a thermal resistance junction-to-case of 2.0°C/W.
The MUR840G is packaged in a TO-220-2 through-hole package (TO-220AC case), making it suitable for easy mounting on printed circuit boards. The case is made of molded epoxy with UL 94 V-0 flammability rating. The terminals are corrosion resistant and readily solderable. The device is Pb-free and RoHS compliant, as verified in the datasheet. It also features ESD ratings of Machine Model C (>400V) and Human Body Model 3B (>16,000V).
