The MUR620CTG is a state-of-the-art switch-mode power rectifier from On Semiconductor, designed for high-frequency switching power supplies, inverters, and freewheeling diode applications. It integrates two ultrafast recovery rectifiers in a common cathode configuration, providing a compact solution for center-tapped or bridge topologies.
Key electrical characteristics include a peak repetitive reverse voltage of 200V, an average forward current of 3A per diode leg (6A total device), and a typical forward voltage drop of only 0.94V at 3A and 25°C. The reverse recovery time is typically 20ns (maximum 35ns) at IF=1A and di/dt=50A/µs, enabling efficient high-speed switching. Reverse leakage current is extremely low at 0.01µA typical at 25°C.
The device is rated for operating junction temperatures up to 175°C and has a junction-to-case thermal resistance of 5°C/W per diode leg. It is housed in a popular TO-220-3 through-hole package, which is easy to mount and provides good thermal dissipation. The package is Pb-free and RoHS compliant, with a weight of approximately 1.9 grams. Typical applications include output rectification in switch-mode power supplies, power factor correction circuits, and freewheeling diodes in motor drives and inverters.
