The MUR1540 is an ultrafast rectifier diode from On Semiconductor, designed for high-efficiency power switching applications. It offers a reverse voltage rating of 400V and an average forward current of 15A, with a low forward voltage drop of 1.25V at 15A. The device features an ultrafast reverse recovery time of 60ns (typical <55ns per datasheet) with soft recovery characteristics, minimizing ringing and electrical noise in switching circuits.
This diode is avalanche energy rated and constructed using planar, silicon nitride passivated, ion-implanted epitaxial technology, ensuring reliable performance. It is suitable for use as energy steering/clamping diodes and rectifiers in switching power supplies, power switching circuits, and general-purpose high-frequency rectification.
The MUR1540 is packaged in a JEDEC TO-220-2 (TO-220AC) through-hole package, with an operating junction temperature range of -65°C to 175°C. The through-hole mounting allows for easy integration into standard PCB layouts and effective thermal management.
