The MT9V034C12STM-DP from On Semiconductor is a 1/3-inch Wide-VGA CMOS active-pixel digital image sensor designed for demanding imaging applications. It offers a global shutter and high dynamic range (HDR) operation, achieving CCD image quality with the advantages of CMOS technology.
The sensor features an active imaging pixel array of 752 Horizontal by 480 Vertical pixels. It incorporates sophisticated on-chip camera functions such as 2x2 and 4x4 binning to improve sensitivity, along with windowing, column, and row mirroring capabilities. Programmable via a simple two-wire serial interface, the MT9V034 can operate in its default mode, outputting a Wide-VGA image at 60 frames per second, or be programmed for custom frame sizes, exposure, and gain settings.
An on-chip analog-to-digital converter (ADC) provides 10 bits per pixel, with an option for 12-bit resolution companded for 10 bits to allow more accurate digitization in darker areas. The sensor supports both traditional parallel logic output and a serial low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) output. It is designed to operate within a wide temperature range of -30°C to +70°C and is housed in a 48-CLCC package.
