The MS-156C(20) is a subminiature coaxial switch receptacle from Hirose Electric, designed for high-frequency circuit inspection in portable devices. It offers low insertion loss: 0.15 dB typical at 2.5 GHz, 0.2 dB at 6 GHz, and 0.4 dB at 11 GHz (not mated with plug). With a 50 Ohm impedance, it operates from DC to 11 GHz.
This surface mount component occupies only 2.3 mm x 2.3 mm board space and protrudes 1.35 mm above the board, making it ideal for space-constrained designs. Weighing just 0.014 g, it is lightweight and durable with 100 mating cycles. The gold-plated contacts and housing ensure reliable performance.
The switch features an internal switch mechanism that redirects the circuit when a plug is inserted, allowing for antenna or circuit testing. It is packaged on tape and reel for automated assembly. The MS-156C(20) is RoHS compliant and halogen free per IEC 61249-2-21.
