The MR854 is a fast recovery power rectifier designed by On Semiconductor for applications requiring high efficiency at frequencies up to 250 kHz. It is rated for a maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage (VRRM) of 400V and an average rectified forward current (IO) of 3A. The forward voltage is typically 1.04V and maximum 1.25V at 3A and 25°C. The reverse recovery time is 300 ns maximum. The device can handle a non-repetitive peak surge current of 100A.
Typical applications include DC power supplies, inverters, converters, ultrasonic systems, choppers, low RF interference circuits, and free wheeling diodes. The MR854 is packaged in a DO-201AA or DO-27 axial lead case, through-hole mounted. It is Pb-free and meets the requirements of RoHS3 (low confidence due to data conflict). The operating temperature range is -65°C to 125°C, with storage up to 150°C. Thermal resistance junction-to-ambient is 28°C/W and junction-to-lead is 5.5°C/W. The device is available in tape and reel packaging with 1200 units per reel.
