The On Semiconductor MR851 is a fast recovery rectifier diode designed for applications requiring high efficiency at switching frequencies up to 250 kHz. It offers a peak repetitive reverse voltage of 100V and an average rectified forward current of 3.0A.
Electrical characteristics include a forward voltage of 1.04V typical (1.25V maximum at 3A) and a reverse recovery time of 300 ns. The device can withstand non-repetitive surge currents up to 100A. Thermal resistance is rated at 28°C/W junction-to-ambient and 5.5°C/W junction-to-lead when mounted on FR-4 PCB with minimum pad size.
The MR851 is housed in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial lead package and is Pb-Free (RoHS compliant per datasheet). It is suitable for DC power supplies, inverters, converters, ultrasonic systems, choppers, and free-wheeling diode applications.
The MR851 has a peak repetitive reverse voltage (VRRM) of 100V and a non-repetitive peak reverse voltage (VRSM) of 150V.
The average rectified forward current (IO) is 3.0A at TA=80°C, with a non-repetitive peak surge current (IFSM) of 100A.
The forward voltage (VF) is typically 1.04V and maximum 1.25V at 3A and 25°C.
The reverse recovery time (trr) is 300 ns (datasheet mentions typical 100 ns for the family).
The MR851 is available in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial lead package.
The non-repetitive peak surge current (IFSM) is 100A applied at rated load conditions for one cycle.
The junction temperature range is -65°C to 125°C.
