The MPL3115A2R1 from NXP Semiconductors is a compact, piezoresistive absolute pressure sensor featuring an I2C digital interface. It operates within a wide pressure range of 20 kPa to 110 kPa, suitable for various altitude and barometry applications.
This sensor includes an on-chip temperature sensor for internal temperature compensation, providing fully compensated and digitized outputs for pressure in Pascals and temperature in °C. The device offers direct reading of pressure and altitude, with a 20-bit measurement for both. Its advanced ASIC includes user-programmable modes for power saving and autonomous data acquisition, with an embedded 32-sample FIFO for data logging.
The MPL3115A2R1 is designed for surface mount installation and comes in an 8-LGA package. It operates with a supply voltage range of 1.95 V to 3.6 V and a digital interface supply voltage of 1.6 V to 3.6 V. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.
