MMC3630KJ

The MEMSIC MMC3630KJ is a fully integrated 3-axis magnetic sensor designed for applications requiring precise magnetic field measurement. It offers a superior dynamic range with a full-scale range (FSR) of ±30 Gauss, coupled with a 16-bit resolution providing 1 mG per LSB. This enables high heading accuracy of ±1º, making it suitable for electronic compass and GPS navigation systems.

The device operates with a low supply voltage compatible with 1.8V systems and features an I2C slave interface with FAST mode operation up to 400 KHz. Its ultra-small, low-profile 1.2x1.2x0.5 mm BGA package makes it ideal for space-constrained designs. The MMC3630KJ includes on-chip sensitivity compensation, a temperature sensor, and a degaussing SET/RESET function to eliminate thermal variation induced offset errors and clear residual magnetization.

With an output data rate up to 600 Hz and low power consumption, including a 1 µA power-down current, this sensor is well-suited for battery-powered devices. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C, ensuring reliable performance in various environments. The sensor also provides Motion Detection and Data Ready interrupts for efficient system management.
