The NXP Semiconductors MMA6270QT is a low-cost, dual-axis micromachined accelerometer designed for a wide range of motion sensing applications. It features selectable sensitivities of ±1.5g, 2g, 4g, and 6g, allowing for flexible configuration. The device operates over a voltage range of 2.2V to 3.6V and consumes low current, making it suitable for battery-powered electronics.
With integral signal conditioning and a low-pass filter, the MMA6270QT provides reliable analog voltage output. It includes a sleep mode for further power savings. The accelerometer is housed in a compact 6mm x 6mm x 1.45mm 16-QFN package, designed for surface mounting.
Typical applications include freefall detection and anti-theft systems in laptops, image stability and motion dialing in cell phones, and tilt compensation for navigation systems. Its robust design ensures high shock survivability.
