The MM74HC4538N from ON Semiconductor is a high-speed dual retriggerable monostable multivibrator implemented in advanced silicon-gate CMOS technology. It offers speeds comparable to low-power Schottky TTL while retaining the low power consumption and high noise immunity characteristic of CMOS circuits.
This device features a wide power supply range of 2V to 6V and a typical trigger propagation delay of 26 ns. Each multivibrator includes both negative (A) and positive (B) transition triggered inputs, which can also function as inhibit inputs. A clear input is also provided to reset the one-shot when taken low. The MM74HC4538 is retriggerable, meaning its output pulse can be extended by repeated triggering.
Designed for stability over a wide temperature range, the output pulse width is determined by the equation PW = 0.7(R)(C). The MM74HC4538N is pin-compatible with CD4528 and CD4538 one-shots. All inputs are protected against static discharge damage.
The MM74HC4538N is supplied in a 16-lead PDIP package suitable for through-hole mounting. Its operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.
