This device features both negative (A) and positive (B) transition-triggered inputs, either of which can serve as an inhibit input. A clear input, when taken low, resets the one-shot. The MM74HC4538 is retriggerable, meaning its output pulse can be extended by repeated triggering.

 

Pulse width stability is achieved using linear CMOS techniques, with the output pulse equation PW = 0.7(R)(C). The MM74HC4538MX is pin-compatible with CD4528 and CD4538 one-shots. All inputs are protected against static discharge.

 

The MM74HC4538MX is supplied in a 16-SOIC surface mount package. It operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C and requires a supply voltage between 2V and 6V.
