The MM74C922WM is a CMOS key encoder designed to fully encode an array of SPST switches. It supports keyboard scanning via an external clock or capacitor and includes on-chip pull-up devices for switches up to 50 kΩ on resistance, eliminating the need for diodes to prevent ghost switches.
Key features include a 2-key roll-over, on-chip keybounce elimination requiring a single external capacitor, and a last key register at the outputs. The encoder has 3-STATE outputs that are LPTTL compatible, facilitating easy expansion and bus operation. It operates within a wide supply voltage range of 3V to 15V and consumes low power.
This encoder is housed in a 20-SOIC package with surface mount mounting type. It is suitable for applications requiring efficient keyboard encoding with robust features like debouncing and roll-over.
