These ICs are capable of detecting and protecting against overcharge, overdischarge, discharging overcurrent, and short circuits. Optional detection for charging overcurrent and overvoltage charger conditions are also available.

The overdischarge detection voltage is between 2.0V and 3.0V with 50mV steps and ±35mV accuracy. The overdischarge release voltage is between 2.0V and 3.5V with 50mV steps and ±100mV accuracy.
Overcharge detection delay times can be selected from 0.25s, 1.0s, 1.2s, or 4.5s. Overdischarge detection delay times can be selected from 20ms, 24ms, 96ms, 125ms, 128ms, or 144ms.
