The Melexis MLX90365LDC-ABD-000-RE is a versatile Hall Effect position sensor IC designed for absolute rotary and linear position measurements. Utilizing Triaxis Hall Technology, it can detect flux density in three dimensions, enabling precise position decoding of a moving magnet.
This sensor IC offers a 12-bit resolution and 10-bit thermal accuracy, with a selectable output mode supporting either a ratiometric analog voltage or Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) signal. It operates within a voltage range of 4.5V to 5.5V and maintains functionality across an automotive temperature range of -40°C to 150°C.
The MLX90365LDC-ABD-000-RE is suitable for applications requiring non-contacting position sensing, such as pedal position, steering wheel position, throttle position, and float-level sensing. It is packaged in an 8-SOIC (Surface Mount) package with Gull Wing termination.
Key features include programmable transfer characteristics, open/short diagnostics, on-board diagnostics, over-voltage protection, and under-voltage detection. The device requires an external magnet, which is not included.
