The Melexis MLX90360 is a Triaxis Hall Effect Position Sensor IC designed for robust absolute position sensing. It features on-chip signal processing and a programmable measurement range, offering a 12-bit resolution and 10-bit thermal accuracy. The sensor supports both analog (ratiometric) and PWM output signals, making it versatile for various applications.
This sensor IC is sensitive to three components of flux density, enabling the decoding of absolute position for both rotary (0-360 degrees) and linear displacements with an external magnet. It operates within a voltage range of 4.5V to 5.5V and has an operating temperature range of -40°C to 150°C.
The MLX90360 is available in an 8-SOIC package with gull wing termination, suitable for surface mounting. Its design is intended for non-contacting position sensing in automotive and industrial applications, such as pedal, steering wheel, throttle, and ride height position sensing, as well as float-level sensing.
Key features include its Hall effect technology, programmable linear transfer characteristic, and a 48-bit ID number option. The device is RoHS3 compliant and has an MSL rating of 1.
