The Melexis MLX90316LDC-BCG-000-RE is an absolute rotary position sensor IC utilizing Triaxis Hall Effect technology. It provides contactless sensing of a magnet's angular position over a range of 0 to 360 degrees.
Key features include a programmable angular range and transfer characteristic, selectable analog (ratiometric), PWM, or serial output protocols, and 12-bit angular resolution with 10-bit angular thermal accuracy. The device operates within a supply voltage range of 4.5V to 5.5V and has an operating temperature range of -40°C to 150°C.
Designed for applications requiring precise angular measurement, such as steering wheel position, pedal position, and motor-shaft position sensing. The sensor is robust against mechanical tolerances like air gap and off-axis misalignment. It is housed in an 8-SOIC package and is suitable for surface mounting.
The MLX90316 is programmable for offset, gain, clamping levels, linearity, thermal drift, and filtering through end-of-line calibration.
