The Melexis MLX90316KGO-BCG-000-RE is an absolute rotary position sensor IC designed for precise angular measurement. It employs Tria⊗is® Hall Technology to sense the horizontal component of a magnetic field from a rotating dipole magnet, providing contactless position detection.
This sensor IC features a programmable angular range up to 360 degrees and a programmable linear transfer characteristic. It offers selectable outputs including analog ratiometric, PWM, and serial protocol, with a 12-bit angular resolution and 10-bit angular thermal accuracy. The device operates within a voltage range of 4.5V to 5.5V and has an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
The MLX90316KGO-BCG-000-RE is suitable for applications requiring absolute rotary position sensing, such as steering wheel position, pedal position, and motor-shaft position sensing. It is available in a 16-TSSOP package and is designed for surface mount installation with a gull wing termination style.
