The MLV0603E31103T is a surface mount multilayer varistor from Vishay BC Components in a compact 0603 (1608 Metric) package with NiSn terminations. It features a varistor voltage of 18V typical (range 16-20V at 1mA), maximum clamping voltage of 30V at 1A (8/20µs), and a peak current rating of 30A (8/20µs). Typical capacitance is 425pF at 1MHz and energy rating is 0.1J (10/1000µs).
The operating temperature range spans -55°C to 125°C. The component is bidirectional and provides inherent clamping for transient over-voltage protection. It is designed for reflow soldering and is available in 8mm paper tape on 180mm reels with 4000 pieces per reel.
Applications include data line and I/O port protection, ESD transient suppression, on-board protection of ICs and transistors, modem and LCD protection. This part is not recommended for automotive applications per the datasheet.
