The ON Semiconductor ML4800ISX is a versatile controller IC designed for power factor corrected, switched mode power supplies. It integrates leading-edge PFC and trailing-edge PWM functions into a single chip, enabling compliance with IEC1000-3-2 specifications.
This device features an average current, continuous boost leading edge PFC and a PWM configurable for current-mode or voltage mode operation. Key electrical characteristics include a wide operating voltage range of 11V to 16.5V, a low startup current of 200µA, and an operating current of 5.5mA. The switching frequency is 76kHz for the PFC section, with the PWM section capable of up to 250kHz.
Designed for enhanced safety and performance, the ML4800ISX includes TriFault Detect™ for UL1950 compliance, slew rate enhanced transconductance error amplifier for fast PFC response, overvoltage and brown-out protection, UVLO, and soft start. It operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
The ML4800ISX is supplied in a 16-SOIC surface mount package, suitable for various power supply applications requiring efficient power factor correction and regulated output.
