The MK2703BSLFTR, manufactured by Integrated Device Technology (IDT/ICS), is a low-jitter, high-performance Phase Locked Loop (PLL) clock synthesizer. Designed to replace traditional oscillators and PLL circuits, it is suitable for set-top box and multimedia systems.
This device utilizes IDT's patented analog PLL techniques. It takes a 27 MHz crystal or clock input and produces a buffered reference clock (27M) and a selectable audio clock output (CLK). The operating voltage can be either 3.3 V or 5 V. The audio clock output frequency is selectable via two input pins, S1 and S0, offering frequencies such as 8.192 MHz, 11.2896 MHz, 12.288 MHz, and 24.576 MHz.
The MK2703BSLFTR is packaged in an 8-pin SOIC package, designed for surface mount applications. External components required include a 0.01µF decoupling capacitor between VDD and GND, and optionally a 33Ω series termination resistor for clock outputs on traces longer than one inch. Crystal load capacitors are also necessary when using a crystal.
Key features include patented zero ppm synthesis error, frequency-locked outputs, and an advanced, low-power, sub-micron CMOS process. The device is available in a RoHS compliant package.
