MIC94073YC6-TR Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The MIC94073YC6-TR is a high-side load switch designed for portable applications, operating within a voltage range of 1.7V to 5.5V. This device integrates a P-channel MOSFET capable of handling 1.2A of continuous current and 3A of pulse current. It offers a low on-resistance of 120mΩ typical, minimizing voltage drop and power loss.

The MIC94073YC6-TR includes an active load discharge circuit, ensuring that capacitive loads retain no charge when the main switch is in the OFF state. It also features a slew rate controlled soft-start turn-on of 800µs typical, which helps prevent in-rush current from affecting supply rails. The enable input has an active pull-down, keeping the device in a default OFF state until the EN pin is high.

With built-in level shift circuitry, low voltage logic signals can control higher supply voltages, or vice versa. This makes the MIC94073YC6-TR suitable for 1-cell Lithium-ion and 2- to 3-cell NiMH/NiCad/Alkaline powered systems, as well as 5V applications. Its low quiescent current of 2µA and micro-power shutdown current of less than 1µA are designed to maximize battery life.

The load switch is housed in a space-saving 1.2mm x 1.6mm Thin MLF® package, with an alternative SC-70-6 package available. It is designed for surface mount applications.
