The MIC94069YML-TR from Microchip Technology is a dual high-side load switch suitable for a wide range of portable applications. It operates within an input voltage range of 1.7V to 5.5V, making it compatible with single-cell Lithium-ion and multi-cell NiMH/NiCad/Alkaline powered systems, as well as standard 5V applications. The device features a pair of P-channel MOSFETs with a low on-resistance of 85mΩ (typical), capable of handling over 2A of continuous current.
This specific variant, MIC94069YML-TR, includes an active load discharge circuit, ensuring that capacitive loads retain no charge when the main switch is in the OFF state. It also provides a slew-rate controlled soft-start turn-on of 800µs (typical) to prevent in-rush current from glitching supply rails. The integrated level-shift circuitry allows for control logic signals that may differ from the supply voltage, and it can be operated by 1.5V logic. With a low quiescent current of 2µA and a micro-power shutdown current of less than 1µA, it is designed to maximize battery life in power-sensitive devices.
