The Micrel MIC61300 is a high-current, low input voltage, single-supply linear regulator designed for digital circuits requiring low voltages at high currents, such as DSPs, FPGAs, and microcontrollers. It operates over a single input voltage range of 1.1V to 3.6V and provides an output current of up to 3A.
This regulator features an ultra-low dropout voltage of less than 350mV over the entire operating temperature range. It is available as a fixed 1.0V output option or an adjustable output option down to 0.5V. The MIC61300 is stable with a 47µF low-ESR ceramic output capacitor and includes essential protection features like thermal shutdown and current limiting.
The device is offered in two package types: a 10-pin 3mm x 3mm MLF® (MicroLeadFrame) package and a 10-pin ePad MSOP package. The operating junction temperature range is from -40°C to +125°C. Its excellent line and load regulation, coupled with logic-controlled shutdown, make it suitable for point-of-load applications, ASIC/microprocessor power supplies, FPGA power supplies, and telecom/networking cards.
Mounting is via surface mount technology. The regulator provides positive output and features an enable control input for logic-controlled shutdown.
