The MIC5330-SSYML-TR from Microchip Technology is a compact dual Ultra Low Dropout (ULDO) linear regulator, ideal for space-constrained portable applications. It integrates two high-performance 300mA ULDOs into a tiny 2mm x 2mm leadless MLF® package, offering excellent thermal characteristics.
This regulator features a wide input voltage range of 2.3V to 5.5V and boasts an ultra-low dropout voltage of 75mV at 300mA. Its high Power Supply Ripple Rejection (PSRR) of greater than 70dB at 1kHz and ultra-low output noise of 30µVRMS make it suitable for noise-sensitive circuitry.
The MIC5330 is a µCap design, enabling stable operation with very small ceramic output capacitors, reducing board space and component cost. It includes protection features such as thermal shutdown and current limit protection. The fixed output voltages are available in the tiny 8-pin 2mm x 2mm MLF® package, occupying less than half the board area of a single SOT-6 package.
Applications include mobile phones, PDAs, GPS receivers, portable media players, digital cameras, and other portable electronic devices where low power consumption, high performance, and small size are critical.
