MIC5311-NLYML-TR Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The MIC5311-NLYML-TR is a high-performance, dual µCap low dropout regulator from Microchip Technology. It offers ultra-low operating current and an even lower operating current mode, LowQ™ mode, reducing current draw by 75%. Each regulator can source up to 300mA of output current.

Ideal for battery-operated applications, the MIC5311 provides 1% accuracy, extremely low dropout voltage (60mV @ 150mA), and low ground current (typically 28µA total). In LowQ™ mode, the quiescent current drops to 7µA total. The device includes a TTL logic-compatible enable pin for zero-off-mode current when disabled.

This regulator is a µCap design, operating with very small ceramic output capacitors for stability, reducing board space and component cost. The MIC5311 is available in fixed output voltages and comes in a tiny 3mm x 3mm MLF-10 leadless package. It features thermal shutdown and current limit protection.

Applications include cellular/PCS phones, wireless modems, PDAs, and MP3 players.
