The MIC49500WR is a high-bandwidth, low-dropout (LDO) voltage regulator capable of delivering up to 5A of current. It is designed to power core voltages of low-voltage microprocessors and other sensitive components.
This regulator features a dual supply configuration, enabling very low output impedance and fast transient response, with a bandwidth up to 10MHz. The input voltage range is from 1.4V to 6V for the main supply (VIN) and 3.0V to 6V for the bias supply (VBIAS). The output voltage is adjustable down to 0.7V, with fixed options available from 0.9V to 1.8V. It offers ±1.0% initial output tolerance and a maximum dropout voltage of 500mV at 5A.
Protection features include over-current and over-temperature shutdown. The MIC49500WR is supplied in a 7-pin S-Pak surface-mount package. It operates across a junction temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
Applications include ASIC core voltage regulation, PLD/FPGA power supplies, and linear point-of-load conversion.
