The MIC4826YMM from Microchip Technology is a high voltage EL (Electroluminescent) driver IC. It is designed for driving EL lamps up to 6 square inches. The device supports an input supply voltage range from 1.8V to 5.5V, making it suitable for one-cell Li-Ion and two-cell NiCad/NiMH/Alkaline applications.
Key electrical characteristics include a quiescent current of 21 µA and an operating frequency range from 60Hz to 1kHz. The IC can be programmed for switch frequency and EL frequency through external resistors, allowing optimization of efficiency and brightness. The nominal AC output voltage applied to the EL lamp is 160V for the MIC4826 and 180V for the MIC4827.
