MIC4811YMM

The MIC4811YMM is a high-efficiency linear White LED (WLED) driver from Microchip Technology, engineered to drive up to six high-current WLEDs for signage lighting. This device offers superior efficiency by avoiding switching losses inherent in charge pump or inductive boost circuits. It provides six linear drivers that maintain constant current for each WLED, ensuring uniform display illumination.

The MIC4811YMM features Dynamic Average Matching (DAM) for optimal WLED matching and high accuracy current regulation (±1% typical). Brightness is precisely controlled via an Ultra Fast PWM interface, operating down to less than 1% duty cycle. The driver supports an input voltage range of 3.0V to 5.5V and can deliver up to 50mA per channel. It is available in a 10-pin MSOP package, suitable for surface mount applications, and operates within a junction temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.

Key specifications include a typical dropout voltage of 100mV at 50mA, and channel matching better than ±1% typical. The Ultra Fast PWM control operates from 200Hz to 500kHz. This driver is ideal for applications such as billboard displays, marquee displays, instrument displays, and LCD display modules where consistent and accurate LED illumination is critical.
