MIC4685WR-TR

The MIC4685WR-TR from Microchip Technology is a high-efficiency 200kHz step-down (buck) switching regulator designed for various applications requiring efficient power conversion. It can achieve power conversion efficiencies above 85% and delivers 3A of continuous current.

This regulator operates with a wide input voltage range of 4V to 30V, with a transient rating of 34V, making it suitable for applications with potential input voltage transients. The output voltage is adjustable down to 1.235V. Built-in safety features include over-current protection, frequency-foldback short-circuit protection, and thermal shutdown, enhancing system safety and reliability.

The MIC4685WR-TR is housed in a low-profile 7-pin SPAK package, which offers a smaller footprint compared to traditional TO-263 packages and allows for an all-surface mount solution. The thermal performance of the SPAK package enables it to replace TO-220 and TO-263 (D2PAK) components in many applications.
