The MIC29151-5.0WT is a high-current, high-accuracy, low-dropout voltage regulator manufactured by Microchip Technology. Utilizing a proprietary Super βeta PNP™ process, this regulator offers a low dropout voltage of 350mV at full load and very low ground current. It is designed to handle high current loads up to 1.5A and is suitable for applications requiring extremely low dropout voltage.
This device provides robust protection against overcurrent faults, reversed input polarity, reversed lead insertion, overtemperature operation, and positive and negative transient voltage spikes. The MIC29151-5.0WT features a fixed 5V output and includes an Enable pin for ON/OFF control, along with an error flag that signals when the output falls out of regulation. These flagged states include low input voltage (dropout), output current limit, and overtemperature shutdown.
The regulator is available in a 5-pin TO-220 package, suitable for through-hole mounting. Its design makes it ideal for battery-powered equipment, high-efficiency computer systems, automotive electronics, and as a high-efficiency linear post-regulator for switching supplies.
