The MIC2845A-MGYMT-TR by Microchip Technology is a high-efficiency, 6-channel linear White LED (WLED) driver designed for portable applications. It operates with an input voltage range of 3.0V to 5.5V and provides constant current to up to six LEDs, maintaining uniform display illumination.
This driver utilizes Dynamic Average Matching (DAM) for superior channel matching (better than ±1.5% typical) and Ultra Fast PWM control for brightness adjustment down to less than 1% duty cycle. It offers a typical dropout voltage of 40mV at 20mA, allowing direct battery drive without switching losses. The device also includes two independently enabled low quiescent current LDOs.
Packaged in a 14-pin 2.5mm x 2.5mm Thin MLF® (TMLF®) leadless package, the MIC2845A-MGYMT-TR is suitable for surface mounting. Its operating junction temperature range is -40°C to +125°C. Key applications include mobile handset backlighting, keypad backlighting, and camera flash in portable devices.
Features include high efficiency due to the linear architecture, precise current accuracy, and thermal shutdown and current limit protection for the LDOs.
