The MIC2843YMT-TR from Microchip Technology is a high-efficiency linear WLED driver designed for portable display and keypad backlighting, as well as camera flash applications. This device drives up to six WLEDs, maintaining constant current for uniform illumination. Its linear architecture eliminates switching losses, contributing to extended battery life.
The driver features a low dropout voltage of less than 40mV at 20mA, allowing direct battery connection and reducing noise. The six channels are matched to better than ±3% typical, ensuring consistent brightness. Brightness control is managed via an Ultra-Fast PWM™ interface, capable of operating down to less than 1% duty cycle. The typical current accuracy is better than ±1.5%.
