The MIC2842AYMT-TR is a high-efficiency, 4-channel White LED (WLED) driver designed by Microchip Technology. It is ideal for backlighting applications in portable devices, such as mobile handsets and digital cameras, helping to extend battery life.
This linear driver operates with an input voltage range of 3.0V to 5.5V and features Dynamic Average Matching (DAM) for uniform display illumination, with channel matching better than ±1.5% typical. It provides a typical dropout of 40mV at 20mA and offers current accuracy better than ±1.5% typical.
The brightness of the LEDs can be preset by an external resistor and precisely controlled using a single-wire digital interface, offering 49 brightness steps across full brightness and battery-saving modes. The device maintains proper regulation regardless of how many channels are utilized.
The MIC2842AYMT-TR is available in a compact 10-pin 2mm x 2mm Thin MLF® package, suitable for surface mounting. It operates within a junction temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
