The MIC2821-4GJLYML-TR from Microchip Technology is a high-performance digital power management IC designed for efficient power delivery. It features a 2MHz DC/DC converter capable of handling up to 600mA output current, alongside three 300mA LDOs. This combination supports up to four output voltage rails, providing flexibility for various power requirements.
The DC/DC converter operates within a 2.7V to 5.5V input range and achieves up to 86% efficiency. LDOs 1 and 2 can operate from a low input voltage of 1.65V, making them suitable for post-regulation. LDO 3 also operates from a 2.7V to 5.5V input range. All outputs feature ±2% voltage accuracy, thermal shutdown protection, and current limit protection.
This IC is housed in a compact 16-pin 3mm x 3mm MLF® leadless package, suitable for space-constrained applications. The µCap design allows for the use of small ceramic output capacitors and inductors, further reducing board space and component costs. Applications include mobile phones, PDAs, portable media players, and mobile television receivers.
